Templates and Email Templates (5 of 6)
Once your Templates have been designed and are ready for use, we can begin the process of uploading the Templates into Salesforce. Start by navigating back to the Solution Manager page of your working Solution. Once there, click Add Templates. This page will display any Templates that have been uploaded in the past, and can be added to the current Solution. If no Templates have been created in your Salesforce instance, the list on the left will be empty. In order to upload a Template into Salesforce we must first create a record to upload the Template to. Start by clicking Create New Conga Template Record. Note that the name of the Template record is how it will appear to end-users within the Composer Solution. Template Groups and Master Field to Set are for more advanced use-cases, and can be referenced on Conga’s Support page. To upload a template for basic, day-to-day usage, simply name the record appropriately, specify that is a document, and click Save. Now that the record for our Template has been created, we can navigate to the Related tab, and upload our Template. Once uploaded, close the window, and refresh the Add Templates page in the background. Once refreshed we can now add our newly uploaded template to our Solution by selecting it from the list on the left, and then clicking Add Conga Template to Solution Record. The process for creating email templates is very similar. From the Solution Manager page, click Add Conga Email Templates. This page will display any Email Templates that have been created in the past, and can be added to the current Solution. If no Email Templates have been created in your Salesforce instance, the list on the left will be empty. Start by clicking Create New Conga Email Template Record on the bottom left. Conga Email Templates can be formatted in HTML or plain text, and Merge Tags can be applied throughout, just as with regular Templates. Once your template is designed, click Save and close the window. After refreshing the Email Templates page, we can now add our Email Template to our Solution by selecting it and clicking “Add Email Template to Solution Record.” Note that in order for changes or additions to appear in the Solution, be sure to click Update Button at the top of the Solution Manager page.
